This post is going to be very easy. I woke up, walked to heli, Flew to Mt. Olympus and skied big lines, it was awesome… The end.

Tomorrow is the last day of the trip, we are going to try and go out with a bang.
Woke up a little foggy this morning due to last nights festivities. After Our big mission with the horses and skin, we decided to celebrate a little bit. The owner of the little hotel we were staying at decided to join in and help us out too. He did so with donating his massive bottle of home made Tsipouro and passing it around. Ive come to learn that everyone here either makes or has an uncle that makes tsipouro. The minute I say the word or ask about it, they are offering me some of their home made blend. So once we collected ourselves this morning we loaded up and got on the road again. Our guide told us of some bridges in the area that dated back to 18th century and would shoot really well. I wasn’t expecting to do anything much today besides lifestyle/culture stuff, but things soon changed when I found a cliff to hit into a river. I have never seen water so clear and clean before anywhere, along with so cold. After doing a couple gainers off the cliff we moved along to a village at a different mountain. Its extremely cool to be up in the mountains in these small villages of maybe a 100 people, and getting the full culture experience. This weekend is a big holiday in Greece, with the celebration of the sun coming. Starting tomorrow they will burn massive fires everywhere and party until monday. For us, we can start to use the heli again Sunday. And it is looking like some snow is on its way here and lots of it. Fingers crossed!

The adventures never end. Today I can say I did something I never thought I would. We ended up in this town way up in the mountains, staying at this extremely cool place. The village has been around for ever, 100 plus years! Only about 500 people live here and everything you see just has that ancient feel. The village is tucked very high up in-between some huge mountains. But to get to the snow we had to hike about an 2 hours up… thats when we brought the calvery in. We rode horses up to the zone today, I have never been on a horse and today was pretty bad ass. We loaded up all the horses with the gear and us and took off to the zone. I have never experienced anything like this. Being up in the middle of no where in a very small village and surrounded by mountains like this. Today was one to remember and I thank all the locals and everyone that helped make it happen.

After 3 days of waiting for weather to clear we finally got what we wanted, cold temps and clear skies. Unfortunately it was the first day of four that we couldn’t use the heli. For four days we aren’t allowed to fly because of a politician in Athens. Don’t really want to explain the details, but its pretty crazy we can’t fly even though we aren’t close to Athens… So to be productive we packed up the van and took off to what everyone said was the best ski area in Greece. After driving some of the craziest roads I have ever been on in the mountains, we reached our destination of Vassilitsa. We were able to get some shots in the bag and finally ski around on some snow. The locals were super nice, and we were able to chat with them at the local bar afterwards. A round of the best bourbon apple cider and moonshine I have ever had and funny people. Once done there, we set off to a new location much further north in Greece. The idea in mind (I won’t spoil the details now) but is to do something very unique and out of the ordinary. Its going to be interesting to say the least.
DISCLAIMER- I usually write this blog when I can’t sleep here, usually around 4 a.m. So sorry if there is any grammar errors or anything else.
You can look, but you can’t touch…
